The Book of Fighting [The Prohibition of Bloodshed] · The One Who is Killed Defending His Wealth

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْمُؤَمَّلُ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏"‏ مَنْ قُتِلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

English translation

It was narrated from Sulaiman bin Buraidah that his father said: "The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) [SAW] said: 'Whoever is killed defending his wealth, he is a martyr.'"

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَاتِمٌ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ ‏"‏ مَنْ قَاتَلَ دُونَ مَالِهِ فَقُتِلَ فَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) [SAW] say: 'Whoever fights to protect his wealth and is killed, he is a martyr.'"
