حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ أَبُو حَفْصٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ: «يَكُونُ بَعْدِي اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَمِيرًا» قَالَ: ثُمَّ تَكَلَّمَ فَخَفِيَ عَلَيَّ مَا قَالَ، قَالَ: فَسَأَلْتُ بَعْضَ الْقَوْمِ أَوِ الَّذِي يَلِينِي: مَا قَالَ؟ قَالَ: «كُلُّهُمْ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ»

English translation

Jābir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ say, “There will be twelve leaders after me,” then he ﷺ said something I could not make out, so I asked one of those present, or the person next to me, “What did he say?” He said, “All of them will be from Quraysh.” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 244
