حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِلَالُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْمُزَنِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: «رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ بِمِنًى عَلَى بَغْلَةٍ، وَعَلَيْهِ بُرْدٌ أَحْمَرُ» قَالَ: وَرَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَدْرٍ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ يُعَبِّرُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: فَجِئْتُ حَتَّى أَدْخَلْتُ يَدِي بَيْنَ قَدَمِهِ وَشِرَاكِهِ، قَالَ: «فَجَعَلْتُ أَعْجَبُ مِنْ بَرَدِهَا»
English translation
ʿĀmir al-Muzanī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ﷺ addressing the people at Minā on a mule, wearing a red cloak, with a man who had witnessed [the Battle of] Badr standing before him, relaying his words [to the crowd]. I came forward and put my hand between his foot and his sandal-strap, and I marveled at how cool it was. Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 259
