وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- قَالَ: { لَوْ كَانَ اَلدِّينُ بِالرَّأْيِ لَكَانَ أَسْفَلُ اَلْخُفِّ أَوْلَى بِالْمَسْحِ مِنْ أَعْلَاهُ, وَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-يَمْسَحُ عَلَى ظَاهِرِ خُفَّيْهِ } أَخْرَجَهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ بِإِسْنَادٍ حَسَن ٍ 1‏ .‏

وَعَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- قَالَ: { جَعَلَ اَلنَّبِيُّ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-ثَلَاثَةَ أَيَّامٍ وَلَيَالِيَهُنَّ لِلْمُسَافِرِ, وَيَوْمًا وَلَيْلَةً لِلْمُقِيمِ.‏ يَعْنِي: فِي اَلْمَسْحِ عَلَى اَلْخُفَّيْنِ } أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِم ٌ 1‏ .‏

وَعَنْ ثَوْبَانَ ‏- رضى الله عنه ‏- قَالَ: { بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ ‏- صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏-سَرِيَّةً, فَأَمَرَهُمْ أَنْ يَمْسَحُوا عَلَى اَلْعَصَائِبِ ‏- يَعْنِي: اَلْعَمَائِمَ ‏-وَالتَّسَاخِينِ‏- يَعْنِي: اَلْخِفَافَ } رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ, وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ, وَصَحَّحَهُ اَلْحَاكِم ُ 1‏ .‏

Narrated Thawban (rad): Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) sent out a military expedition and commanded them to wipe over the turbans and leather socks. [ Reported by Ahmad and Abu Da’ud. Al-Hakim graded it Sahih (sound)].
