Sunan Abi Dawud · Book 2 · Hadith 1031

حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَخِي الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ زَادَ ‏"‏ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ قَبْلَ التَّسْلِيمِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

This tradition has also been transmitted by Muhammad b. Muslim through a different chain of narrators. This version adds; “While he is sitting before he gives the salutation.”

Sunan Abi Dawud · Book 2 · Hadith 1032

حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَمَعْنَاهُ قَالَ ‏"‏ فَلْيَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسَلِّمَ ثُمَّ لْيُسَلِّمْ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

This traditions has also been narrated by Muhammad b. Muslim al-Zuhr through a different chain of transmitters and to the same effect. This version adds; He should perform two prostrations before giving the salutation.
