Prohibition of Carrying Out The Legal Punishments In The Mosque.

Sunan Ibn Majah · Book 20 · Hadith 2599

حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ الأَبَّارُ، جَمِيعًا عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ لاَ تُقَامُ الْحُدُودُ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Do not carry out the legal punishment in the mosque.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلاَنَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَمْرَو بْنَ شُعَيْبٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَى عَنْ جَلْدِ الْحَدِّ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ ‏.‏

'Amr bin Shu'aib narrated from his father, from his grandfather, that: the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade lashing for the legal punishment in the mosques.
