One Who Takes His Right to Retaliation without the Involvement of the Ruler

Sunan an-Nasa'i · Book 45 · Hadith 4860

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ مَنِ اطَّلَعَ فِي بَيْتِ قَوْمٍ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنِهِمْ فَفَقَئُوا عَيْنَهُ فَلاَ دِيَةَ لَهُ وَلاَ قِصَاصَ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "Whoever looks into a house without the permission of the occupants and they put out his eye, he has no right to blood money or retaliation."

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏"‏ لَوْ أَنَّ امْرَأً اطَّلَعَ عَلَيْكَ بِغَيْرِ إِذْنٍ فَخَذَفْتَهُ فَفَقَأْتَ عَيْنَهُ مَا كَانَ عَلَيْكَ حَرَجٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَقَالَ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى ‏"‏ جُنَاحٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: "If a person were to look at you without permission and you were to throw a stone at him and put out his eye, there would be no blame on you."
