The Sexually Impure Person Shaking Hands

Sunan Abi Dawud · Book 1 · Hadith 230

حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَقِيَهُ فَأَهْوَى إِلَيْهِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي جُنُبٌ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ إِنَّ الْمُسْلِمَ لاَ يَنْجُسُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Hudhaifah reported : The prophet (ﷺ) visited him and inclined towards him (for shaking hand). He said : I am sexually defiled. The prophet (ﷺ) replied : A muslim is not defiled.
