حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ‏:‏ لاَ يَجْزِي وَلَدٌ وَالِدَهُ، إِلاَّ أَنْ يَجِدَهُ مَمْلُوكًا فَيَشْتَرِيَهُ فَيُعْتِقَهُ‏.‏

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "A child cannot repay his father unless he finds him as a slave and the buys him and sets him free."

Anas ibn Malik reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Anyone who wants to have his provision expanded and his term of life prolonged should maintain ties of kinship."

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ هِلاَلِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلاَلٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ‏:‏ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ الَّتِي فِي الْقُرْآنِ ‏{‏يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا‏}‏ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ نَحْوَهُ‏.‏

حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ قَالَ‏:‏ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ قَالَ‏:‏ سَمِعْتُ قَبِيصَةَ بْنَ جَابِرٍ قَالَ‏:‏ سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ‏:‏ مَنْ لاَ يَرْحَمُ لاَ يُرْحَمُ، وَلاَ يُغْفَرُ مَنْ لاَ يَغْفِرُ، وَلاَ يُعْفَ عَمَّنْ لَمْ يَعْفُ، وَلاَ يُوقَّ مَنْ لا يَتَوَقَّ‏.‏

'Umar was heard to say, "Anyone who does not show mercy will not be shown mercy. Anyone who does not forgive will not be forgiven. Anyone who does not pardon will not be pardoned or protected."

Abu Umama that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Anyone who shows mercy, even to an animal meant for slaughtering, will be shown mercy by Allah on the Day of Rising."
